ABOUT US

SMALL TOWN SUPERHEROES, formerly known as Alliance, started over 15 years ago in Oskaloosa, Iowa.  The product of brothers Terry and Tim DeJong  (drums/keys and vocals) the group has seen its fair share of bars, private parties and even a few high school proms.  Originally accompanied by Chris Roberts and Dan Spotten on lead and bass guitar respectively, the band rocked Southern and Central Iowa until 1986, entertaining audiences with a full range of cover tunes and special lighting and stage effects.  In 1998 the band re-formed for a reunion performance at the Iowa State Fair and has continued that tradition every year since that date.  In 2003, bass player Dan Spotten pulled out of Alliance and was replaced by Dr. John Hoekstra.  The band then began playing the night club circuit again.  Chris Roberts left the band in 2006 and Bob Edwards was added at lead guitar.  Following an appearance at the State Fair in 2007, Amy Howe of West Des Moines joined the band and a new era started.  The group changed their name in the fall of 2007 to SMALL TOWN SUPERHEROES and hit the circuit again combining their classic rock roots with a sultry southern vibe.
