Amy joined Alliance in 2007 for the annual State Fair gig. She had sang once before with the group in 2006 at the fair and had been a member of two local bands "Even Odds" and "Chasing Amy". She started out singing in her hometown church in Lovilia, Iowa. As a little girl, you could say her passion for singing was in her blood. Her mother and father were Sunday favorites for special music at church, her mom played the piano every week, and in their free time the couple filled the void in the small town as the go-to wedding and funeral musicians. A lot of what she knows about singing she attributes to her parents, but to this day she's never heard a soul who could belt out "How Great Thou Art" quite like her grandpa Bill. The way his voice would bellow through that little church raises goose bumps to this very day.  She has a love for clever lyric and writes a few things down herself. Alt country and southern rock music tend to be her favorites for listening and she loves to get out with Bob and play what she loves for coffee shops and cafes.  Still, she must admit there is an energy buzz that comes from  just giving the people what they want to hear. "There is something about the perfect combination of lights, a dance floor, too many shots and a classic Guns n Roses lick that really makes a good time."

FAST FACTS

1-   Number of times I attended a Milli Vanilli concert
2-   Place I received in mixed doubles at the state bowling tournament in the 4th grade. Some kids were playing real kid sports like softball or soccer... my mom had me bowling??? I'll never know why.
0-   Potential I have for the game of golf (according to my old boss who took me to the Des Moines Golf and Country Club on my first golf outing EVER!)
32-  Age I was when I did my last back handspring.  Impressive huh?
40-  Age my sister was when she successfully completed the splits in the doctor's office where she worked.  Even MORE impressive, I know.
1-   Number of jobs guidance counselor Hjalmer Lindberg's "magic" career finder actually found for me when I was a freshman in high school. Yes, just one:  Tile Setter.  Need any tile laid? I'm the woman for the job.
7-  Number of times per week I wish The Office was on.
6-  Number of times my sister Dana sang "The Gambler" and I sang "You Light Up My Life" at family pet funerals.
4-  Number of martinis I can drink and still hold a somewhat intelligent conversation.
2-  Number of times I have driven off from the drive-thru bank teller with their "capsule" still in my car.
1-  Place in my  held by Avery, my 4-year-old daughter. She's so cute I could squeeze her 'til her head pops off. You know what I mean? That's when you love something soooo much that a regular squeeze just won't do.  I tell her every day that I love her brains out... being loved by me is a very dangerous thing.
3-  Number of very important issues on my Presidential Platform:
      *The abolishment of the penny
*A law that requires McDonalds to put ketchup in the same containers they do maple syrup.  My fries need ketchup, even on the road people, are you with me?
      * The 4 day work week
